Dual Beam Laboratory

Our FEI Quanta 3D ESEM is a major research facility within the unit and can be used to prepare and view a wide range of materials. Options include:

• FEG Environmental scanning electron microscope (ESEM)
• Scanning Transmission Electron Microscopy (STEM) in high-vacuum and wet conditions with sub-nanometre resolution
• Focused ion beam for 5-7nm patterning and platinum deposition
• Integrated Gatan cryogenic preparation cold stage
• In situ atomic force microscope within ESEM chamber
• Energy dispersive x-ray analysis (EDS)
